2015 Highlights

2015 has been a bit of a blur. It has all gone incredibly quickly. There is always something going on! At times it has been a bit relentless. There have been a few less than great things happened this year, Leo had to go to hospital and I failed my driving test but I want to focus on the best bits of the year. Here’s a round up of my highlights of 2015.

Starting my blog
I started my blog at the end of July. It has been such an amazing part of my year. I love writing and it has been a great way of getting to write and be creative regularly. I’ve learnt so much in a very short space of time and have started to get my site looking . I joined Twitter to promote my posts and quickly realised it is an epic time eater. I don’t think I realised initially how time consuming blogging is in general but it is time well spent. I’ve met some amazing friends in the blogging world, via social media. I got the chance to meet some of them face to face when I went to my first blogging conference, Blogfest 2015. Here’s a post about it Blogfest

Thank you to everyone who has read, commented on and shared my blog this year!

Lake District
I went to the Lake District every summer as a child. This made it very special to introduce my family to this beautiful part of the country. We did some amazing things including taking a forest trail, feeding penguins, going to Beatrix Potter world and taking a boat trip. It was very special to spend a lot of time running about outside. Here’s a little round up Lake District

Day trip to France
This was an amazing girl day adventure I had with Sofia. We went to the Christmas market in Lille via the euro tunnel. Lille was charming and lit up beautifully with Christmas lights. It was such a treat to spend so much one on one time with my daughter – the most enthusiastic travel companion. Here’s a write up of our trip. Lille

Village Fun Run

This was a hilarious family activity. We all did our village fun run together. The boys were in their double pushchair and Rolando, Sofia, Sofia’s friend and I ran and walked. We came second last but it was such good fun. Here’s a post with some more photos. Fun Run

Halloween dressing up
We have a family tradition of dressing up for Halloween. It is my birthday on 31st October so we really go for it. This year we went with a cartoon, super hero theme. I loved that Sofia convinced us to go out to dinner dressed up. There are lots more photos on this post. Halloween

Sam and Leo starting pre school
It’s blowing my mind how quickly the boys are growing up – they turned 3 in October. They started going to preschool in September. They really enjoy the 3 mornings a week that they spend there. It also means that I’ve had a little bit of time during the days when I’m not working or with the kids which feels like coming up for air after 3 very intense years since the twins were born! Here’s an account of their first day. Starting preschool

I’m really excited about what 2016 will bring. I’m still deciding on what my New Years resolutions will be for this year, I like to plan them really carefully so that they are realistic and achievable. I want to keep on working on my blog, take a holiday and enjoy time with the kids. I’m determined to get my driving licence this year. Rolando has just rented a new and larger work shop for his business Pincay Woodworking. Rolando is taking a trip to New York in the summer. Maybe I need an equivalent kid free holiday (to recover from looking after my 3 kids on my own for a week!)

Happy New Year to you and all the best for 2016!

    1. Thank you. Just going to the supermarket without my three feels like a mini break. I think being on holiday without them would blow my mind. I’m already a bit nervous about going solo for a week! Fingers crossed 2016 has good things in store for us x
