Blogtober day 27 Places I’d love to visit

I’m taking part in Blogtober where I have been set the challenge to write a post every day during October on a given theme. The writing prompt I have been given today is “Places I would like to visit.”

I love travelling so this post could probably be endless.  I have so many places on my must see list! To keep this post manageable I’ve picked my top five dream travel destinations.

Galapagos Islands
These islands off the coast of Ecuador are renowned for their incredible wildlife. They inspired Charles Darwin to formulate his theory of evolution. A good friend of mine visited the Galapagos many years ago and I still remember looking at his photos I have never seen anything quite like it. Beaches filled with seals, huge groups of dolphins, incredible birds, lizards and giant tortoises. I would love to visit as a family. It would be an experience none of us would ever forget.

Italy
I have been to Italy once when I visited my friend who was living in Milan and absolutely loved it. I would love to see more of the country especially Rome, Venice and Sicily. Rolando took Italian classes many years ago and we have a dream of living in Italy for at least a month exploring and trying to speak the language. There would also be lots of lovely Italian food and gelato involved too!

The Greek Islands
I once had a Greek next door neighbour and loved his tales of life in Greece. I have a picture in my mind of walking down winding streets of white washed houses looking up at the brilliant blue sky. I love the idea of visiting the different islands and swimming in the beautiful clear sea.

The Northern Lights
I hate the cold but I would get over it for the chance to see the northern lights. I just find the idea of them fascinating and beautiful.

Cornwall
I can’t believe I have never been to Cornwall! It looks so gorgeous and I love a cream tea! We always talk about taking a trip there each summer but have never got around to it. Mainly because I hate long car journeys with the kids. Maybe we should just download lots of kids films and go for it next summer!

Writing this post is making me desperate for a holiday! Where in the world would you love to visit?
