Twins Make Five, starting a YouTube Channel

I had a little spur of the moment brainwave and have made Twins Make Five it’s own YouTube Channel!  I really like playing around with making videos and thought it would be fun to have somewhere to share them (other than spamming people on Facebook!)

Watching YouTube
We watch loads of YouTube in our house.  I pretty figure out how to do everything from a video tutorial (remind me why I went to uni again?!)  Sofia loves a channel called Cookie Swirl C that has a lady with a very squeaky voice playing with Shopkins and other toys.  The boys like to watch Disney videos in Spanish.  We are raising the kids to be bilingual so I don’t feel too bad about the screen time if it is helping the kids hear more Spanish!  This morning I showed the kids some videos from the Planet Earth 2 channel and they were totally fascinated.

What I’m thinking of posting
My favourite videos to make are my “Our day in 60 seconds” videos.  I love how they capture a moment with the kid and I think they will be lovely to look back on when they are older.  I’m toying with the idea of doing some useful, tutorial type videos.  I’m thinking like parenting hacks that I have learnt from having 3 kids.  I might also do some content about my decluttering project and how living with less can work when you have young kids.

As a little taster here is my favourite “Our day in 60 seconds video”  This was taken over the summer on a day when I took the kids to hang out in Cambridge.  This is one of the first videos that I made and I didn’t realise that you are supposed to film with your camera in landscape rather than portrait! In case you are concerned the duck was totally unharmed after his encounter with Leo!

Learning as I go
It’s all a bit of a work in progress.  I have zero technical skill at the moment and I’m not really that familiar with how all the features on YouTube work, but I love a little project and I think it will be fun to learn something new.  Please feel free to leave me any good tips or video ideas in the comments section below.  If you have a YouTube channel or any blog posts with YouTube tips I’d love to take a look.  Please feel free to leave me your links below.

If you want to take a look at our other videos here is the link Twins Make Five YouTube channel.

    1. We are having loads of fun messing around on YouTube, we are not really taking it too seriously learning as we go. I found I am less self conscious if I turn off the screen so I can’t see myself when filming.
